What this breaker is and what it does
The Siemens 3RV2011-1HA25-ZX95 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker in the S00 frame size, designed specifically for protecting three-phase induction motors against overload and short-circuit faults. Its CLASS 10 trip characteristic means it will trip within 10 seconds at 7.2× the thermal setting — fast enough to protect standard IEC motor windings during a locked-rotor event. The thermal overload release is adjustable from 5.5 to 8 A, and the magnetic short-circuit release is fixed at 104 A.
Breaking capacity — what the numbers mean for your panel
This breaker delivers 100 kA interrupting capacity at 240 V and 400 V AC, dropping to 42 kA at 500 V and 4 kA at 690 V. On a 400 V distribution board with a high-fault utility transformer, 100 kA SCCR means it can safely clear a bolted fault without the arc flashing over to adjacent devices — no need for a current-limiting upstream fuse in most industrial panels. At 690 V the 4 kA rating still covers typical motor branch circuits on 690 V mining or marine supplies, but verify the available fault current at that voltage.
Mounting and wiring
Snap-on mounting onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 60715, size S00 frame — 45 mm wide, 97 mm deep, 97 mm high. Spring-type terminals accept 2× (0.5 to 4 mm²) solid or stranded, or 2× (0.5 to 2.5 mm²) finely stranded with ferrule. No screw torque to check; the cage clamp holds reliably under vibration. The transverse auxiliary switch block (1 NO + 1 NC) is integrated into the breaker body, saving a separate mounting slot.
Compliance documentation
RoHS compliant with substance prohibition date of October 1, 2009 — covers the EU RoHS directive. The breaker carries IEC 60947-2 and IEC 60947-4-1 design for motor protection and circuit protection. UL and CSA listings are standard for the SIRIUS family; verify the specific file number if your panel requires a UL 508 listing.
