The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV2021-1DA10-ZW97 is a motor protection circuit breaker designed for Class 10 trip characteristics, meaning it will trip within 10 seconds at 7.2× the thermal setting — the standard for protecting standard induction motors during locked-rotor starts. It carries a 100 kA short-circuit breaking capacity at 400 V AC, so it can safely interrupt faults up to that level without cascading upstream, provided the upstream device is coordinated. Phase failure detection is built in, which prevents single-phasing damage on three-phase motor loads.
Mounting and integration
Mounts via screw fixing or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, in any orientation. The 45 mm width and 97 mm depth fit standard panel layouts; clearance requirements are 50 mm upward and downward, 30 mm to the side, and zero forward or backward. Main circuit terminals accept 2× (1–2.5 mm²) or 2× (2.5–10 mm²) solid or stranded copper, terminated with M4 screws.
