Motor protection circuit breaker for Class 10 overloads
The Siemens 3RV2021-1HA20-ZX95 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker with Trip Class 10. Rated short-circuit breaking capacity reaches 100 kA at 400 V AC, so it can safely interrupt a bolted fault at the motor terminals without upstream fuses needing to clear first, provided the available fault current stays under that level. Phase failure detection is built in — if one line drops, the breaker trips on the remaining two phases before the motor overheats from single-phasing, which is a common failure mode in older or poorly maintained distribution. Spring-loaded terminals on the main current circuit accept 2x (1 … 10 mm²) solid or stranded copper, so the wireman lands the motor leads without torquing a screw — just strip to the right length and push in.
Mounting and integration into the panel
Fastens by screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, in any mounting position. The 45 mm width and 97 mm depth fit standard enclosures. Clearance requirements: 50 mm upwards and downwards, 30 mm at the side, zero forwards or backwards — so the breaker can be stacked tightly in a row as long as vertical airflow is maintained for the thermal bimetal to reset correctly. Ambient operating range is -20 … +60 °C; storage and transport range extends to -50 … +80 °C, which covers most unheated warehouses and truck shipments in temperate climates.
Sourcing and lifecycle
The lifecycle stage is listed as current, meaning the manufacturer continues to produce this order code without a published end-of-life notice. For volume or scheduled-line purchases, the part is quoted to order against an RFQ through independent distribution channels, with availability and current pricing confirmed at quote time.
