The 5.5 kW rating at 230 V and the 25 kA breaking capacity at 400 V tell you it can safely interrupt a bolted fault up to that level on a 400 V supply, which is typical for industrial motor branch circuits. Temperature compensation up to 60 °C keeps the thermal curve stable in a warm enclosure.
The 55 mm width and 149 mm depth mean it occupies one 55 mm module slot on the rail; plan for 50 mm clearance above and below and 10 mm at the sides for airflow and wiring access. Screw-type terminals on the main current circuit accept 2×(0.5…1.5 mm²) or 2×(0.75…2.5 mm²) solid or stranded. Any mounting position is allowed.
The 3RV2031-4BA15-0BA0 delivers 50 kA at AC 240 V and 50 kA at AC 400 V, dropping to 12 kA at AC 500 V and 3 kA at 690 V. At 240 V and 400 V the 50 kA rating gives ample headroom for high-fault installations — useful when coordinating with an upstream MCCB or fuse to achieve Type 2 coordination per IEC 60947-4-1.
