What you need to know about this motor protection breaker
The Siemens 3RV2031-4RA10 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker with trip class CLASS 10, which means it opens within 10 seconds at locked-rotor current to protect the motor windings without nuisance tripping on inrush. Phase failure detection is built in — if you lose one leg, the breaker trips, saving you an external phase-loss relay in the panel. Check the trip curve before you land the load — CLASS 10 is standard for general-purpose motors; if you have a soft-start or high-inertia load, verify the curve matches your start time.
Mounting and wiring realities
Screw terminals for the main circuit accept 2x 1–35 mm² or 1x 1–50 mm² stranded. Torque down to M6 specs. Good for solid or stranded copper. Environmental rating: operate from -20 to +60 °C; storage and transport tolerate -50 to +80 °C. That covers most indoor panel environments without derating.
