Motor protection circuit breaker, 30 kA at 400 V
The Siemens 3RV2031-4SA10 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker designed for motor loads. Its 30 kA breaking capacity at 400 V means it can safely clear a bolted fault on a 400 V line without upstream fuses needing to coordinate — the breaker itself handles the interruption, protecting downstream contactors and cabling.
Trip Class 10 and phase failure detection
Trip Class 10 means the bimetal element trips within 10 seconds at 7.2× the thermal setting — tight enough to protect a standard squirrel-cage motor during a locked-rotor event without nuisance tripping on normal starts. Phase failure detection is built in, so a lost phase on the line side will cause the breaker to open, preventing single-phasing damage to the motor.
Mounts on 35 mm DIN rail
Fastens via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. The 55 mm width fits a standard 6-module-wide slot in a panel. Any mounting position is allowed, which simplifies layout when the panel is tight on vertical clearance.
Screw terminals and conductor range
Screw-type terminals on the main circuit accept 2× (1 … 25 mm²) or 1× (1 … 35 mm²) solid or stranded copper. The M6 contact screws are standard for this class — torque them to the manufacturer's spec (not listed here) to keep the connection stable under vibration.
Current lifecycle — no obsolescence signal
Lifecycle stage is marked as current. This is an active catalog item in the SIRIUS line.
