Rated at 40 A continuous, the 3RV2041-4FA10 handles motor full-load currents up to that value. The SCCR (short-circuit current rating) of the downstream contactor and overload relay is coordinated with this breaker; the 3RV2041 limits the let-through energy so the contactor survives a fault.

The solid/stranded wire range is 2x (2.5... 16 mm²) for the power circuit, with a larger range of 2x (2.5... 50 mm²) or 1x (10... 70 mm²) available for the load side — sized to handle the full 40 A without derating.
