The Siemens 3RV2311-0KC10 is a SIRIUS circuit breaker designed specifically for starter combinations — meaning it integrates into motor starter assemblies where the breaker provides short-circuit and overload protection ahead of the contactor. Its 100 kA breaking capacity at 400 V AC means it can safely interrupt fault currents up to that level without upstream fuses needing to clear first, which simplifies panel coordination. The same 100 kA rating holds at 240 V, 500 V, and 690 V — a flat high-interrupt curve that lets you use it across a wide voltage range without derating the breaking capacity.
Mounting and integration
Mounts via screw fixing or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715 — the standard rail found in any control panel. The 45 mm width matches the typical footprint for this class of motor-protective breaker, and the 97 mm depth is shallow enough for shallow enclosures. Screw-type terminals on the main current circuit accept 2x 0.75 to 2.5 mm² solid or stranded, or 2x 4 mm². Mounting position is any, so vertical or horizontal rail orientation works. Clearance requirements: 50 mm upwards, 50 mm downwards, 30 mm to the side, zero forwards or backwards.
