Breaking capacity — the real-world fault current it handles
Rated short-circuit breaking capacity at 240 V AC is 100 kA with gL/gG fuses, dropping to 30 kA at 400 V, 5 kA at 500 V, and 2 kA at 690 V. That 30 kA at 400 V is the figure that matters for most European 400 V industrial panels — it safely interrupts faults up to that level without cascading upstream, which is what UL 508A and IEC 60947-2 coordination studies check. Continuous current rating is 16 A at both 480 V and 600 V, so it covers 5.5 kW (7.5 hp) motor loads at 460/480 V three-phase.
Panel integration and clearances
Width is 45 mm — a single DIN module — so it occupies one position on the rail. Depth is 97 mm, height 106 mm. That 50 mm top clearance is the one that catches people out when the enclosure backplate is tight to the gland plate. No derating needed for most indoor panel environments unless ambient exceeds 60 °C.
