Its headline breaking capacity of 100 kA at 400 V AC and at 240 V AC and 500 V AC means it safely interrupts fault currents up to that level without cascading upstream — critical for panel SCCR compliance under IEC 60947-2 and UL 508A. Clearance requirements: 50 mm upwards and downwards, 30 mm at the side, zero forwards or backwards. This allows tight panel packing in multi-circuit motor control centers, but the side clearance must be observed for arc-flash containment and heat dissipation.
Deployment context
The screw-type terminals for the main current circuit accept 2x (1 to 2.5 mm²) or 2x (2.5 to 10 mm²) solid or stranded conductors, sized for motor branch circuits up to 2 hp at 460/480 V or 575/600 V. No ground-fault or phase-failure detection built in — those functions must be handled by the upstream protection or a separate relay.
