What this part is and what it does
The Siemens 3RV2332-4RC10 is a SIRIUS-brand circuit breaker designed specifically for starter combinations — meaning it's built to sit upstream of a contactor in a motor control center or standalone starter, providing short-circuit and overload protection in one package. Rated for operating voltages from 20 to 690 V AC, it delivers a breaking capacity of 50 kA at 400 V, 100 kA at 240 V, 8 kA at 500 V, and 4 kA at 690 V — so the interrupting capability scales with the line voltage you're working on. Motor power ratings are given per common North American and European voltage standards: 60 hp at 460/480 V, 75 hp at 575/600 V, 30 hp at 220/230 V, and 22 kW at 230 V.
Mounting and panel fit
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, in any position. At 55 mm wide, 140 mm tall, and 149 mm deep, it takes up a standard three-module footprint on the rail — plan your enclosure backpanel layout accordingly. Clearance requirements: 50 mm above and below, 10 mm to the sides, and zero clearance forward or backward. That 50 mm top/bottom gap matters for airflow and for routing the M6 main-circuit terminals. Terminals accept 2x 1–35 mm² or 1x 1–50 mm² solid or stranded copper — plenty of cross-section for the 77 A continuous rating at 480/600 V.
Lifecycle and sourcing reality
Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C; storage and transport range is -50 to +80 °C. No ground-fault or phase-failure detection built in — those are handled separately upstream or in the motor starter assembly.
