Transformer protection breaker, S00 frame
The Siemens 3RV2411-0BA10 is a SIRIUS circuit breaker purpose-designed for transformer protection, in the compact S00 frame size. It delivers 100 kA breaking capacity at 400 V AC, which means it can safely interrupt a fault current up to that level without cascading upstream — critical for transformer secondary-side protection where inrush and short-circuit currents can be severe. Trip Class 10 means the breaker will trip within 10 seconds at 7.2× the thermal setting, a standard match for transformer magnetizing inrush without nuisance tripping. Phase failure detection is built in, so a lost phase on the primary side will not leave the secondary energized in a single-phase condition.
Mounting and panel integration
Mounts via screw fixing or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. The S00 footprint — 45 mm wide, 97 mm deep — fits standard distribution panels and leaves room for adjacent breakers or contactors in a motor control center row. Any mounting position is permitted, which simplifies layout in tight enclosures. Clearance requirements: 50 mm above and below, 30 mm to the sides, zero forward or backward. This keeps heat dissipation and arc-fault venting within the manufacturer's design envelope.
