The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV2411-0BA15 is a circuit breaker specifically designed for transformer protection. The Trip Class 10 characteristic ensures fast disconnection during overloads, protecting the transformer winding from thermal stress.
The 100 kA breaking capacity at 400 V AC (and also at 240 V, 500 V, and 690 V AC) means this breaker can safely interrupt very high fault currents without failing — critical for transformer primary-side protection where inrush and fault currents can be severe. The rated operational voltage spans 20 to 690 V, covering most low-voltage industrial supplies. Ground fault detection is not included, so if that's required, an external GFCI module is needed. Auxiliary contact ratings are provided for control circuit integration: 1 A at 24 V, 0.5 A at 120/125/230 V, and 0.15 A at 60 V. These are the switching capacities for the built-in auxiliary contacts, not the main power path.
Any mounting position is permitted. Clearance requirements: 50 mm upwards and downwards, 30 mm at the side, 0 mm forwards and backwards. Screw-type terminals on the main current circuit accept 2x (0.5...1.5 mm²) or 2x (0.75...2.5 mm²) solid or stranded wire. Main contact terminal screws are M3. The design is for transformer protection, so it's sized for the inrush and sustained load profile of a transformer, not a motor.
