Transformer protection breaker, SIRIUS S00 frame
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV2411-0BA20 is a circuit breaker specifically designed for transformer protection, built into the compact S00 frame size. It carries a Trip Class 10 characteristic, meaning it will trip within 10 seconds at 7.2× the rated current — fast enough to protect a transformer winding from sustained overload without nuisance tripping on inrush.
The S00 frame footprint — 45 mm wide, 97 mm deep, 106 mm tall — is the standard Siemens small-frame size shared with contactors and overloads in the SIRIUS line, so it fits existing panel layouts without re-drilling. Clearance requirements: 50 mm above and below, 30 mm to the sides, zero forward or backward clearance needed. Any mounting position is permitted.
The 100 kA breaking capacity holds across the full AC voltage range: 240 V, 400 V, 500 V, and 690 V. The main circuit uses spring-loaded terminals (cage clamp), accepting 2 × 0.5 to 4 mm² solid or stranded wire. Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C; storage range is -50 to +80 °C.
