Product identity and design intent
The Siemens 3RV2411-0KA20 is a SIRIUS circuit breaker explicitly designed for transformer protection — not a general-purpose motor-protective breaker. That means its trip curve and ratings are tailored to handle inrush currents typical of transformers while still clearing faults.
Mounting and footprint
No forced-air clearance needed; any mounting position works. Side clearance to adjacent devices is 30 mm; top and bottom clearance 50 mm. No forward clearance required.
Breaking capacity and fault handling
Electrical ratings and wire termination
Rated operational voltage covers 20 to 690 V. At 230 V, the motor power rating is 0.2 kW; at 460/480 V it's 1 hp; at 575/600 V it's 0.5 hp. Switching frequency is limited to 15 operations per hour at AC-3 maximum — fine for transformer switching, not for frequent motor starts.
