The Siemens 3RV2411-1DA10 is a SIRIUS-brand circuit breaker specifically designed for transformer protection — not a general-purpose motor-protective breaker. That distinction matters: the trip curve and coordination are tuned for inrush currents typical of transformers, so it avoids nuisance tripping on magnetizing inrush while still clearing faults.
Rated breaking capacity at 400 V is 100 kA, at 500 V also 100 kA, and at 690 V it drops to 10 kA. At 690 V, the 10 kA rating still covers typical secondary-side transformer faults in medium-voltage step-down applications.
Trip Class 10 and operating cycle limits
The maximum operating rate at AC-3 duty is 15 cycles per hour, which is typical for manual or infrequent switching; this is not a part for high-cycling motor starts.
Integration notes — clearances and wiring
Mounting position is any, which simplifies panel layout. Required clearances: 50 mm upward, 50 mm downward, 30 mm at the sides, zero forward and backward. The main circuit terminals accept screw-type connections: 2 × (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded, or 2 × 4 mm². Terminal screws are M3 for the main contacts.
