The Siemens 3RV2421-0BA10 is a SIRIUS circuit breaker specifically designed for transformer protection — not a general-purpose motor-protective breaker. That means its trip curve is shaped to handle the inrush of a transformer without nuisance tripping, while still providing short-circuit and overload protection for the transformer and downstream wiring. Rated breaking capacity is 100 kA at 400 V AC (also at 240 V, 500 V, and 690 V AC), so it can safely interrupt fault currents up to that level without cascading upstream — a key spec for SCCR coordination in a panel.
Clearance: 50 mm above and below, 30 mm at the sides, 0 mm forward or backward — so it can be packed tight against the back panel or enclosure door. Main circuit connections are screw-type terminals accepting 2× (1 to 2.5 mm²) or 2× (2.5 to 10 mm²) solid or stranded copper. Terminal screws are M4, requiring a Pozidriv size 2 tip or a 5–6 mm diameter screwdriver shaft.
