Transformer protection breaker with Class 10 trip
The Siemens 3RV2421-0EA10 is a SIRIUS circuit breaker specifically designed for transformer protection, with a Trip Class 10 characteristic that clears overloads quickly enough to protect the transformer winding without nuisance tripping on inrush. Rated breaking capacity reaches 100 kA at 240 V, 400 V, 500 V, and 690 V AC — that is the maximum fault current it can safely interrupt without welding contacts or cascading upstream, so it fits high-fault panels where the available short-circuit current is substantial.
Main circuit terminals accept screw-type connections: 2 x (1–2.5 mm²) or 2 x (2.5–10 mm²) solid or stranded. Use a Pozidriv size 2 screwdriver with a 5–6 mm shaft diameter.
Environmental and lifecycle
Rated for operation from -20 °C to +60 °C with temperature compensation active across that range. Storage and transport tolerate -50 °C to +80 °C.
