What this 3RV2 is — and why the 100 kA rating matters
The Siemens 3RV2711-0CD10 is a SIRIUS circuit breaker in size S00, designed for system protection per UL 489 and CSA C22.2 No. 5. That 100 kA interrupting rating at 400 V AC — and the same at 240 V, 500 V, and 690 V — means it can safely clear a fault up to that level without the arc flashing over to adjacent devices. In a panel with high available fault current, this is the breaker that keeps the event contained to one branch.
Panel fit — what the clearances tell you
The 3RV2 needs 70 mm clearance above and below for airflow and arc-quenching, and 30 mm to the sides. Zero clearance forward and backward means it can sit flush against a backplate or door — handy when you're stacking multiple breakers in a row.
