What this breaker does on the line
The Siemens 3RV2711-1ED10 is a SIRIUS Size S00 circuit breaker built for system protection per UL 489 and CSA C22.2 No. 5. The 100 kA holds at 240 V and 500 V too; at 690 V it drops to 4 kA (6 kA AC). For backup protection, the manufacturer specifies gG fuses: 32 A at 400/500 V, 25 A at 690 V. Rated voltage spans 20 to 690 V, covering most industrial control voltages. The motor-switching rating at AC-3 is 0.8 kW at 230 V, with a maximum of 15 operations per hour. No ground-fault or phase-failure detection built in — this is a straight thermal-magnetic or electronic overcurrent trip, not a multifunction motor manager.
Panel fit and clearances
The S00 frame takes a 45 mm wide footprint on the rail, 97 mm deep, 144 mm tall. Any mounting position works. Terminals accept 1 to 10 mm² solid or stranded (up to 2x 10 mm²), with M4 screws on the main contacts; use a Pozidriv size 2 tip or a 5–6 mm diameter screwdriver shaft.
