System-protection circuit breaker for the panel builder
The Siemens 3RV2711-1HD10 is a SIRIUS circuit breaker in size S00, designed specifically for system protection per UL 489 and CSA C22.2 No. 5 — meaning it serves as a branch-circuit protective device, not a motor-protective device. Its interrupting ratings are the headline: 100 kA at 240 V AC, 100 kA at 400 V AC, 42 kA at 500 V AC, and 6 kA at 690 V AC. Back-up fuse requirements are specified: gG 50 A at 400 V, gG 40 A at 500 V, gG 35 A at 690 V. If you are feeding this breaker from a transformer or a bus with higher prospective fault current, those fuse ratings define the maximum upstream protection that still lets the breaker do its job.
Integration into the panel — DIN rail and clearances
Clearance requirements: 70 mm upwards and downwards, 30 mm at the side, 0 mm forwards and backwards. The screwdriver shaft needs a 5–6 mm diameter, Pozidriv size 2 tip.
