70 A thermal-magnetic circuit breaker for system protection
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV2742-5QD10 is a size S3 circuit breaker rated for 70 A operational current at 50–60 Hz, with a thermal overload release and magnetic short-circuit trip — the standard combo for motor branch-circuit protection in a 400 V panel.
Main terminals accept 2x (2.5–16 mm²) solid/stranded or 1x (10–70 mm²); AWG 4 for the main contacts. Screw-type terminals with a 4 mm hex socket driver. Dimensions: 70 mm wide, 170 mm high, 176 mm deep — fits the standard S3 footprint. Clearance: 70 mm above and below, 10 mm at the sides — plan your gland plate and busbar layout accordingly.
Operates from -20 to +60 °C, stores and ships at -50 to +80 °C. Humidity range 10–95% during operation. RoHS compliance date marked as 03/01/2017; no ground-fault or phase-failure detection built in — those are handled externally if needed.
