The Siemens 3RV6011-1DA15 is a SIRIUS motor-protection circuit breaker in the compact S00 frame, rated at 3.2 A operational current with a Class 10 thermal-magnetic trip curve. That means it protects standard induction motors up to roughly 1.5 kW at 400 V, tripping fast enough on overload to keep the winding insulation intact during a stalled-rotor or jam condition — the Class 10 curve clears within 10 seconds at 7.2x Ie. The magnetic short-circuit release handles fault clearing without relying on an upstream fuse, which simplifies the panel bill of materials. Clearance requirements are 50 mm upward and downward, 30 mm to the side, and zero forward or backward — so you can pack it tight against the back panel.
Integration & Wiring
Main circuit terminals accept 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) solid/stranded or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) finely stranded with ferrules; AWG equivalents are 2x (18 to 12) for the main contacts. Auxiliary and control circuit terminals use the same screw-type design, with AWG 2x (20 to 16) or 2x (18 to 14). Torque the main contact screws to 0.8 to 1.2 N·m. The auxiliary switch is transverse-mounted, which means it occupies the same width footprint — no extra DIN space needed for a side-mount block. Rated operational frequency for AC-3 motor switching is 15 operations per hour maximum — adequate for a pump or fan start/stop cycle, but not for high-duty jogging or reversing service. Power dissipation is 6 W typical, so derating within an enclosed panel is minimal at this current level.
