What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RV6011-1JA15 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker in the compact S00 frame. It combines a thermal overload release (Class 10) and a magnetic short-circuit release in one 3-pole device, sized for a 10 A rated operational current at 690 V AC-3. The 7 W typical power loss stays manageable inside a crowded panel. The Class 10 trip characteristic means it disconnects on overload fast enough to protect standard induction motors during a stalled-rotor condition — the thermal element tracks motor heating closely. The magnetic trip handles instantaneous short-circuit clearing without waiting for the thermal element.
Where it fits — panel and mounting
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, in any position. The S00 footprint — 45 mm wide, 96 mm deep, 97 mm tall — fits standard 45 mm-wide DIN slots; clearance requirements are 50 mm upward and downward, 30 mm to the side, and zero forward/backward. That tight clearance profile makes it practical for dense terminal-block layouts. Screw-type terminals on both main and auxiliary circuits accept 2x (0.5…1.5 mm²) solid/stranded or 2x (0.75…2.5 mm²) — AWG equivalents 18–12 for mains, 20–16 for auxiliary. Terminal torque range is 0.8…1.2 N·m.
Environmental and compliance
Rated for -20…+60 °C operating ambient, 10…95 % relative humidity, and -50…+80 °C storage/transport. Surge voltage resistance is 6 kV. The part meets RoHS substance prohibitance as of May 1, 2012, and is rated for 50/60 Hz networks. Shock resistance per IEC 60068-2-27 is 25 g / 11 ms — suitable for installation on machinery subject to moderate shock.
