What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RV6011-4AA10 is a SIRIUS Size S00 motor protection circuit breaker, 3-pole, rated 16 A operational current with a thermal-magnetic trip — thermal overload release for Class 10 protection, magnetic short-circuit release for fault clearing. It's the dedicated overcurrent and short-circuit protector for a 3-phase motor branch circuit, sized for the S00 frame's compact DIN-rail footprint. Rated insulation voltage 690 V, AC-3 switching at 400 V carries the full 16 A — that's the motor-rated current for a standard 3-phase induction motor up to roughly 7.5 kW at 400 V. The Class 10 trip curve means it disconnects within 10 seconds at 7.2× the thermal setting, matching the typical heating curve of a standard squirrel-cage rotor during a stall.
Panel fit and mounting
45 mm wide, 97 mm tall, 96 mm deep — snaps onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, or screws direct to a backplate. Mounting position any; clearance: 50 mm above and below, 30 mm at the sides, zero forward or backward. Screw-type terminals on top and bottom accept 2×(0.75–2.5 mm²) solid/stranded or 2×4 mm² solid; AWG 2×(18–12) solid, 2×(20–16) stranded. Torque to 0.8–1.2 N·m. The S00 frame keeps the wiring gutters clear — no need to oversize the enclosure for this breaker.
Compliance and documentation
RoHS compliant with substance prohibition date 05/01/2012. The SIRIUS series carries IEC/EN 60947-2 and 60947-4-1 certifications for motor protection and circuit-breaking duty. Shock resistance 25 g / 11 ms per IEC 60068-2-27; operating temperature -20 to +60 °C, storage -50 to +80 °C. Relative humidity 10–95 % during operation.
