It combines a thermal overload relay (Class 10 trip) with a magnetic short-circuit trip, rated at 40 A operational current and 690 V maximum.
Any mounting position is allowed. That 96 mm depth matters when sizing a shallow enclosure — it's the full projection from the DIN rail face.
Screw-type terminals on top and bottom. Accepts solid or stranded: 2×(1–2.5 mm²) or 2×(2.5–10 mm²). AWG equivalents: 2×(16–12) or 2×(14–8). Finely stranded with ferrule: 2×(1–2.5 mm²), 2×(2.5–6 mm²), or 1×10 mm². Torque range for main contacts: 2–2.5 N·m. That 10 mm² single conductor is the largest practical termination for a motor feed.

Shock resistance 25 g / 11 ms per IEC 60068-2-27. Surge voltage withstand 6 kV. Power dissipation 14 W typical at rated load — account for that in enclosure thermal calculations.
