Integrator's note: 0.8 A AC-3 motor circuit protector
The Siemens 3RV6311-0HC10 is a SIRIUS size S00 circuit breaker designed specifically for starter combinations — it combines a magnetic short-circuit trip set at 10 A with a 0.8 A AC-3 operational current at 400 V, so it protects a small motor branch without nuisance tripping on inrush. Mounts on 35 mm DIN rail per EN 60715 via screw and snap-on; the 45 mm width (three 15 mm modules) and 96 mm depth fit standard enclosure layouts — any mounting position is permitted. The 0.8 A rating at AC-3 (switching motor loads) is the figure that governs fit — not the thermal rating — so verify your motor FLA is at or below this value before specifying.
Lifecycle and compliance posture
The instantaneous magnetic trip at 10 A provides motor protection characteristics.
Screw-type terminals on top and bottom accept 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) solid/stranded or 2x 4 mm²; AWG equivalents are 2x (18 to 12) and 2x (20 to 16). Finely stranded with core-end processing: 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²). Terminal torque range is 0.8 to 1.2 N·m. Clearance distances: 50 mm upwards and downwards, 30 mm at the side, 0 mm forwards and backwards — plan your gland plate and busbar routing accordingly. Shock resistance is 25 g / 11 ms per IEC 60068-2-27.
For BOM freeze or line-down situations, the 0.8 A AC-3 rating and S00 form factor are the critical fit parameters — the magnetic trip at 10 A is fixed and non-adjustable.
