SIRIUS shunt release for S00/S0 breakers
The Siemens 3RV6902-1DB0 is a SIRIUS shunt release designed as an accessory for motor circuit breakers in frame sizes S00 and S0. It provides remote tripping capability by energizing the coil to mechanically open the breaker — essential for emergency-stop circuits or automated shutdown sequences where the breaker sits inside a panel and needs a control signal to trip. The coil accepts AC control voltage from 20 V to 70 V at 50/60 Hz, with a nominal pickup at 24 V. For DC control, the same 20...70 V range applies. Duty-cycle rating is split: 5-second energization (short-time) across the full voltage range, and 100% continuous duty limited to 20...24 V AC. That means if you need the shunt release held energized indefinitely — say, in a safety chain that stays tripped until manually reset — keep the control voltage at 24 V AC or below. Snap-on mounting onto the breaker side face, no tools required. The screw terminals accept the control wiring directly. Front IP20 finger-safe protection per IEC 60529 means accidental contact with live terminals is prevented when the panel door is open — standard for control-gear compartments.
Width is 18.5 mm — one standard modular pitch on a DIN rail. Depth 68 mm, height 90 mm. When mounted on a S00 or S0 breaker, the assembly stays within the breaker's own envelope; no extra clearance needed beyond what the breaker already requires. Check the 68 mm depth against your enclosure depth if the breaker is mounted near the backplane.
