SIRIUS 3RW3014-1BB04 Soft Starter — S00 Frame, Integrated Bypass
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RW3014-1BB04 is a soft starter in the S00 frame size, designed for controlled motor starting in standard three-phase induction motor applications up to 6.5 A at 40 °C. The unit mounts via screw or snap-on to a DIN rail, fitting into a 45 mm wide enclosure footprint with 150 mm depth.
Current Ratings and Derating
Rated current is 6.5 A at 40 °C, derating to 6 A at 50 °C and 5.5 A at 60 °C. The derating temperature threshold is 40 °C, meaning full rated current is available only up to that ambient; above it, the load must be reduced proportionally. Minimum load is 10 % of the rated current, so the soft starter will not regulate properly below roughly 0.65 A — check that the connected motor's no-load current exceeds this floor.
Mounting position allows vertical surface orientation with ±10° rotation and ±10° tilt forward/back. Required clearances: 60 mm upward, 40 mm downward, 15 mm at the sides. The S00 frame accepts screw-type terminals for both main and control circuits, with solid wire capacity of 2 × (0.25... 2.5 mm²) for auxiliary contacts and 2 × (16... 10 AWG) at the front clamping point. Maximum wire length to the motor is 300 m — beyond that, voltage drop and reflected wave issues may require output reactors.
Functional Limits
The 3RW3014-1BB04 does not include motor overload protection, intrinsic device protection, adjustable current limitation, or a motor brake output. It is not configurable for inside-delta circuit wiring. External reset is not supported. Fault indication is via a red LED display. Insulation voltage rated at 600 V.
