45 A at 40 °C — the current that drives the panel design
The 3RW3036-2BB04: At 60 °C ambient you lose 6 A from the 40 °C rating, so a 37 A FLA motor is the practical ceiling in a warm cabinet without forced cooling. The integrated bypass contact system means the thyristors are shorted out once the motor reaches full speed — the bypass carries the running current, not the SCRs, so the 39 A at 60 °C figure applies to the start cycle only, not continuous duty. This keeps the enclosure heat rise lower than a non-bypassed soft starter at the same load.
Size S2 — DIN rail fit and wire terminations
The 170 mm depth is the dimension that catches panel builders — it needs 60 mm clearance above and 40 mm below for cable bending radius, plus 30 mm at the side for the screwdriver swing on the main terminals. The front clamping point takes 18... 2 AWG, the back clamping point 16... 2 AWG — use the back clamp for the line-side feed and the front for the motor leads to keep the wiring orderly.
24 V control supply — 50/60 Hz common, no external reset
The operating frequency of the power section is 50... 60 Hz, so the unit is line-frequency agnostic within that band. No external reset terminal — fault reset is handled through the control logic, not a separate pushbutton. The fault signal is a red display. Minimum load is 10% of the rated current; below that the motor current may not be detectable by the soft starter's current sensing.
