Rated at 12.5 A at 40 °C, the 3RW4024-1BB04 derates to 11 A at 50 °C and 10 A at 60 °C. The derating threshold starts at 40 °C, so any panel ambient above that requires a downward adjustment in the motor FLA the starter can handle. For a 400 V motor, that 12.5 A at 40 °C corresponds to roughly 5.5 kW (standard 4-pole induction motor); at 60 °C the same motor would need a larger frame.
Control supply and wiring
Control supply is 24 V AC/DC, 50/60 Hz. Main power and control circuits terminate on screw-type terminals. For the main circuit, the terminal accepts 2x (0.5... 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded; auxiliary and control circuit terminals accept 2x (20... 14) AWG. A front clamping point is available for 1x 8 or 2x (16... 10) AWG. Maximum motor cable length is 300 m — keep that in mind for remote motor installations; longer runs may require output reactors.
Mounts on DIN rail or directly with screws (screw and snap-on mounting). Dimensions: 45 mm wide, 125 mm high, 155 mm deep — fits a standard S0 footprint. Clearance requirements: 60 mm above, 40 mm below, 15 mm to the side. Mounting position is flexible with restrictions: with an additional fan, the unit can be mounted vertically with ±90° rotation and ±22.5° tilt front/back; without a fan, only ±10° rotation and ±10° tilt.
Protection and adjustability
Built-in motor overload protection and intrinsic device protection are standard. The current limitation is adjustable, and the minimum load is 20 % of the rated current — so it won't properly soft-start a motor drawing less than about 2.5 A. An external reset input allows remote fault reset. A red LED indicates fault signals.
