S0 frame, 32 A at 40°C — the current rating that governs the motor
The 3RW4027-2BB14 is a SIRIUS soft starter in the S0 frame size, rated 32 A at 40°C. That 32 A is the continuous current at the derating temperature floor — above 40°C the output drops to 29 A at 50°C and 26 A at 60°C, so the ambient in the panel decides the real motor current this unit can carry. The integrated bypass contactor takes the thyristors out of the circuit once the motor is at speed, so the 32 A rating applies to the bypass path, not just the start cycle. That means it can run continuously at rated current without derating the silicon for sustained operation.
Spring-loaded terminals and snap-on DIN rail — panel fit without extra hardware
Both the main current circuit and the auxiliary/control circuit use spring-loaded terminals — no screw torque to check, no loose connections from vibration. Mounting is screw and snap-on — the 45 mm width clips onto standard DIN rail, and the screw holes give a positive fix in high-vibration panels. The mounting position allows ±10° rotation on a vertical surface without a fan; with the optional fan, it can rotate ±90° and tilt ±22.5°.
Adjustable current limit and motor overload — one device, two protection functions
The soft starter includes motor overload protection and intrinsic device protection, plus adjustable current limitation that lets you set the start current between 20% and the rated value. That means you don't need a separate overload relay for most applications — the unit handles both the soft start ramp and the running protection. The control supply voltage is 110... 230 V DC, which covers common DC bus voltages in industrial panels. The operating frequency is 50... 60 Hz, so it works on either line frequency without adjustment.
The insulation voltage is rated 600 V, and the pollution degree is 3 per IEC 60947-4-2 — suitable for industrial environments where conductive dust or condensation is present.
