45 A at 40 °C — what it means for the motor branch
The 3RW4036-1TB04: An integrated bypass contact system means the thyristors are shorted out once the motor reaches full speed; the bypass carries the running current, not the semiconductors, which eliminates continuous conduction losses and keeps the enclosure cooler. Adjustable current limitation and integrated motor overload protection (class 10/20 electronic overload relay) cover the branch protection without a separate overload relay — one device handles the soft-start ramp and the running protection.
Size S2 — panel layout and wiring constraints
Main circuit terminals accept stranded wire up to 2x 25 mm² (or solid 2x 2.5 mm²) via screw-type terminals — sufficient for 45 A branch circuits without parallel conductors. Mounting position is flexible: with an additional fan, the unit can be rotated ±90° on a vertical surface or tilted ±22.5°; without a fan, the allowed rotation is ±10° — important for tight enclosures where airflow direction matters.
