45 A at 40 °C — the derating curve matters
The 3RW4036-2BB15 is rated 45 A at 40 °C, derating to 42 A at 50 °C and 39 A at 60 °C. That 6 A drop from 40 to 60 °C is the number to size against if the panel ambient runs warm — the integrated bypass contact system carries the full load current once the motor is up to speed, so the bypass contact's thermal limit, not the thyristors, governs the continuous rating. Control supply accepts 110–230 V DC, and the operating frequency is 50/60 Hz — standard for global motor applications.
Mounting and terminal layout — panel fit
Size S2 footprint: 55 mm wide, 160 mm tall, 170 mm deep. Screw and snap-on mounting to DIN rail — the snap-on feature saves a screwdriver for the rail clip, but the screw mount is there for vibration-heavy panels. The spring-clamp side speeds wiring for the control loop; the screw terminals on the power side give a gas-tight joint for high-current connections. Clearance requirements: 60 mm upwards, 40 mm downwards, 30 mm at the side. The mounting position is flexible — vertical surface with ±90° rotation or ±22.5° tilt (with additional fan), or ±10° rotation without fan.
