106 A at 40 °C — thermal derating drives the panel layout
The 3RW4047-2BB05: That derating curve means the enclosure ambient temperature directly sets the usable motor current — if the cabinet runs at 50 °C, you lose 8 A of headroom. Integrated motor overload protection and adjustable current limitation are built in, so no separate overload relay is needed for most installations. The minimum load is 20 % of the rated current, which covers lightly loaded conveyors or pumps. Pollution degree 3 per IEC 60947-4-2 confirms it is rated for the conductive dust and humidity typical of industrial control panels without additional conformal coating.
Mounting and wiring — screw terminals, DIN or panel
Fastening method is screw and snap-on mounting — it clips onto a DIN rail or bolts directly to a backplate. Dimensions are 70 mm wide, 170 mm high, 190 mm deep, so it fits a standard S3 footprint. Main circuit terminals accept 2x (7 … 1/0) AWG screw-type lugs. Auxiliary contacts take 2x (24 … 14) AWG. The control supply is 24 V at 50/60 Hz — common for PLC-driven panels. Clearance requirements: 60 mm above, 40 mm below, 30 mm at the sides for airflow. Without an additional fan, the mounting surface must be vertical with ±10° rotation and ±10° tilt. With the optional fan, rotation tolerance opens to ±90° and tilt to ±22.5°.
