106 A at 40 °C — derating curve for panel thermal design
The 3RW4047-2BB15: This is the continuous current the soft starter can handle without forced cooling — panel builders should size the enclosure's thermal budget around the 60 °C figure if ambient inside the cabinet runs hot. The derating temperature is 40 °C, meaning the full 106 A rating holds only up to that point; above it, current must be reduced per the curve.
Screw terminals, S3 frame, DIN-rail snap-on
Auxiliary contacts take 2x (24 … 14) AWG.
Mounting orientation and clearance
With an additional fan, the unit mounts with a vertical surface ±90° rotatable and ±22.5° tiltable front/back. Without a fan, the rotation is limited to ±10° and tilt to ±10°. Required clearances: 60 mm upward, 40 mm downward, 30 mm at the side.
Control supply and environmental ratings
Control supply voltage is 110–230 V DC, matching common industrial control voltages. Line frequency is 50/60 Hz. Operating ambient -25 to +60 °C, storage -40 to +80 °C. Pollution degree 3 per IEC 60947-4-2 — suitable for environments with conductive pollution (dust, moisture).
Built-in motor overload protection and adjustable current limit
Motor overload protection is integrated, and the current limitation is adjustable — minimum load 20 %. Intrinsic device protection is also present. Thyristor-based switching, no inside-delta circuit option. Maximum wire length to motor is 300 m.
