What the current ratings mean for your motor
The 3RW4076-2BB35 is a SIRIUS soft starter, Size S12, rated 432 A at 40 °C — that's the full-load current it can handle continuously at that ambient. It operates on 50/60 Hz supply with a 600 V insulation voltage rating, and includes adjustable current limitation and motor overload protection — so you can set the starting current profile to match the load without adding an external overload relay.
Mounting and connection — what fits in the panel
The unit measures 160 mm wide, 230 mm high, and 278 mm deep, and mounts with screw fixing. The mounting position has restrictions: with an additional fan it can rotate ±90° on a vertical surface and tilt ±22.5° front-to-back; without the fan, rotation is limited to ±10° and tilt to ±10°. Main circuit connections accept busbar or cable: stranded 70–240 mm², finely stranded 50–240 mm², or AWG 2/0–500 kcmil. The back clamping point takes 250–500 kcmil, the front takes 3/0–600 kcmil, and using both clamping points accepts 2/0–500 kcmil per side. Auxiliary control wiring uses solid 0.25–1.5 mm² or 24–16 AWG. The maximum motor cable length is 300 m — keep that in mind when running from the MCC to a remote motor.
Environmental and protection specs
Intrinsic device protection and motor overload protection are built in — no separate overload block needed for most applications. The minimum load setting is 20 % of the rated current, so it can handle lightly loaded motors without nuisance tripping.
