It uses thyristors for the starting ramp and then the bypass contactor carries the full-load current, which cuts heat dissipation in the panel during run. Rated current derates with ambient: 55 A at 50 °C, 50 A at 60 °C. It operates on 50 or 60 Hz supply, with a control voltage of 115 V at both frequencies.
Mounts via screw fixing on a vertical surface, rotatable ±90° or tiltable ±22.5° front-to-back. Clearance: 100 mm above, 75 mm below, 5 mm at the sides. That 5 mm side clearance is tight — adjacent components or wiring ducts need to respect it for airflow. Main circuit connections use box terminals; stranded wire up to 2x 50 mm². Auxiliary and control circuit connections are spring-loaded terminals, accepting 2x 0.25 to 1.5 mm² solid. The spring-clamp on the control side speeds wiring — no torquing, just strip and insert. Maximum motor cable length is 500 m.
Protection and control features
Includes motor overload protection and intrinsic device protection. Adjustable current limitation is standard, and the minimum load setting is 8 % of the rated current — useful for light-load starting like unloaded conveyors or pumps. External reset input is present, and the fault signal is shown on a display. Inside-delta circuit connection is supported, which can reduce the starter current rating for a given motor by about 42 %.
