What the 99 A rating means on the panel floor
The 3RW4425-1BC44: At 50 °C it derates to 88 A, and at 60 °C it drops to 78 A, so if the panel ambient runs warm, the motor FLA must stay under the derated value, not the 40 °C number. Insulation voltage is rated 690 V, and the operating frequency covers 50 to 60 Hz, so it slots into standard European and North American line voltages without a frequency derating. The integrated bypass contact system means once the motor is up to speed, the thyristors are shorted out — no external bypass contactor needed, and the heat load in the enclosure drops to nearly zero during run.
Mounting, wiring, and the inside-delta option
Dimensions are 192 mm high, 170 mm wide, 270 mm deep — screw fixing to the mounting surface, not DIN rail. Clearance above the unit needs 100 mm, below 75 mm, and only 5 mm at the sides, so it packs tight in a row. Auxiliary and control connections are screw-type terminals for 2x (20 to 14 AWG). Maximum wire length to the motor is 500 m — keep that in mind for remote installations. Supports inside-delta circuit wiring, which lets you run the soft starter on the motor windings instead of the line — cuts the current rating requirement roughly by a factor of √3. The adjustable current limitation and minimum load setting down to 8 % give flexibility for light-load or high-inertia starts.
