The Siemens 3RW4435-2BC34 is a SIRIUS soft starter rated 232 A at 40 °C, with a rated insulation voltage of 690 V and an operating frequency of 50 to 60 Hz. It uses thyristors for motor starting, includes motor overload protection, and offers adjustable current limitation. The unit supports inside-delta circuit wiring, which reduces the current through the main terminals for larger motors.
Above 40 °C, derate to 203 A at 50 °C and 173 A at 60 °C — so if your enclosure runs hot, the usable current drops. The minimum load of 8 % of the rated current means it won't start a motor drawing less than about 18.6 A — check your motor's no-load current.
Fastening is screw fixing. Dimensions are 200 mm high, 170 mm wide, 270 mm deep. Main circuit connections accept busbar or cable: stranded 25–120 mm², finely stranded 16–95 mm², or AWG 4–250 kcmil. Auxiliary contacts accept 2×(24–16 AWG) solid. Clearance: 100 mm above, 75 mm below, 5 mm at the sides. Ambient temperature during operation max 60 °C; storage from –25 to +80 °C.
