433 A at 40 °C — where the rating holds and where it derates
The 3RW4444-2BC35: Insulation voltage is rated 690 V, operating frequency is 50/60 Hz, and pollution degree 3 per IEC 60947-4-2 — this is standard for industrial motor control panels where conductive dust or humidity is present.
Integrated bypass and inside-delta wiring
An integrated bypass contact system means the thyristors are shorted out once the motor is up to speed — no external bypass contactor needed, and the heat load in the panel drops to near zero during run. Inside-delta circuit wiring is supported, which lets you connect the soft starter in the motor delta legs rather than the supply lines — this reduces the current the soft starter sees by roughly 42% compared to standard in-line wiring, so a smaller unit can handle the same motor. Adjustable current limitation lets you set the start current between 8% minimum load and the full rated current, giving you control over the inrush on the supply and the mechanical shock to the load.
Panel fit and termination
Mounting is screw fixing with a vertical mounting surface — the unit can be rotated ±90° or tilted ±22.5° front/back. Envelope is 230 mm high, 210 mm wide, 298 mm deep. Main circuit termination accepts busbar connection or cable — stranded 70 to 240 mm², finely stranded 50 to 240 mm², or AWG 2/0 to 500 kcmil. Control wiring is 2x 0.25 to 1.5 mm² solid. Clearance distances: 100 mm upwards, 75 mm downwards, 5 mm at the side. Wire length to the motor is max 500 m — long cable runs increase capacitive charging current and may cause nuisance trips on the soft starter's internal protection.
