954 A continuous — what it means for your motor start
The 3RW4453-2BC34: Rated 954 A at 40 °C ambient, this SIRIUS soft starter handles the inrush of a motor drawing that line current — the integrated bypass contact system carries the full-load current after start, dumping the heat out of the thyristors and into the bypass path. At 50 °C derate to 856 A; at 60 °C to 759 A. The inside-delta circuit wiring option drops the line current requirement by 42% for the same motor, so a 954 A unit in inside-delta covers a motor that would otherwise need a 1650 A line-rated starter.
Panel fit — dimensions and clearance
510 mm wide, 640 mm high, 290 mm deep. Mounting position allows vertical surface with ±90° rotation and ±22.5° tilt forward/back. 100 mm clearance upwards, 75 mm downwards, 5 mm at the sides. Main current circuit connection via busbar; main cable range 70–240 mm² stranded, 2/0–500 kcmil.
