1065 A at 40°C — the rating that sizes the motor branch
The 3RW4454-2BC36: This is the continuous full-load current it can start and run in standard industrial ambient — size the motor FLA against the 40°C figure, then check the derating if the enclosure runs hotter. Operating frequency is 50/60 Hz, so it works on either mains without adjustment.
Built-in bypass and inside-delta wiring
An integrated bypass contact system switches the thyristors out after start-up, eliminating the external bypass contactor and saving panel space. The inside-delta circuit option lets you wire the soft starter in the motor delta loop — this reduces the current rating needed by roughly 58% compared to in-line wiring, so a smaller unit can handle the same motor. Motor overload protection is built in, and the adjustable current limitation lets you set the start current ceiling between 2x and 5x FLA depending on the load. Minimum load is 8% — light-load applications like small pumps may need a dummy load to stay above this threshold.
Mounting and panel fit — 510 x 640 x 290 mm
The unit measures 510 mm wide, 640 mm high, and 290 mm deep. Mounting is screw fixing with a vertical mounting surface that allows ±90° rotation and ±22.5° tilt forward/backward — useful for fitting into tight enclosures or angled subpanels. Clearance requirements: 100 mm above, 75 mm below, 5 mm at the sides. Main circuit connections are busbar accepting 70–240 mm² stranded or 2/0–500 kcmil. Maximum motor cable length is 500 m — longer runs may need output reactors to prevent reflected wave spikes from damaging the motor insulation.
