Motor starting profiles and protection
The 3RW5055-6TB14: Soft torque, voltage ramp, and pump ramp down give application-specific starting and stopping profiles — useful for reducing mechanical shock on pumps and preventing water hammer. Minimum operating current is 68 A, so the soft starter is sized for motors drawing at least that full-load current; the rated voltage range 200-480 V covers common low-voltage supplies worldwide.
Hazardous-area and network integration
ATEX, UKEX, and IECEx certification (all Yes) means this soft starter can be installed in explosive atmospheres — Zone 1 or Zone 2 gas, or Zone 21/22 dust, depending on the system enclosure and wiring method. Fieldbus options include PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, and EtherNet/IP, so it ties into most automation networks without a separate gateway. PROFINET with PROFIenergy is available via an optional communication module.
Mounting and environmental limits
Screw fixing to a backplate or mounting rail; clearances: 100 mm upward, 75 mm downward, 10 mm forward, 5 mm sideways for airflow and wiring access. Operating temperature range -25 to +60 °C, with derating required above 40 °C — factor this into the panel thermal design, especially in hot enclosures or near other heat sources. Shock resistance 15 g / 11 ms (12 g / 11 ms with potential contact lifting) means it holds up on vibrating machinery like crushers or compressors without nuisance trips.
