The 3RW5074-2AB04: Trip class is configurable to CLASS 10A, 10E (preset), or 20E per IEC 60947-4-2 — select 10A for standard-start loads like pumps, or 20E for high-inertia loads that need longer acceleration time without nuisance tripping. Soft torque, voltage ramp, and pump ramp down features reduce mechanical shock on startup and prevent water hammer on pump stop — these are the settings that protect the driven load, not just the motor.
Fieldbus and analog feedback — integration checklist
Supports PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET standard — the 3RW5074-2AB04 can drop into most industrial networks without a protocol gateway. Analog output provides 4-20 mA (default) or 0-10 V feedback — parameterizable via High Feature HMI — for motor current or load monitoring back to the PLC. Auto-reset and remote reset (by cycling control supply voltage) allow the starter to recover from overload trips without a technician hitting the panel — useful in remote or automated lines.
Panel fit and mounting constraints
Dimensions are 160 mm width, 230 mm height, 282 mm depth — screw fixing (not DIN-rail snap-on) so budget for four mounting holes and a 300 mm deep enclosure. Mounting position allows vertical surface with +/-90° rotation and +/-22.5° tilt forward/backward — the clearance requirements are 100 mm upwards, 75 mm downwards, 10 mm forwards, 0 mm backwards, and 5 mm at the side.
