The Siemens 3RW5074-2AB05 is a SIRIUS-series soft starter rated for a minimum motor current of 135 A at 200-600 VAC. The trip class is preset to CLASS 10A / 10E, with a selectable CLASS 20E option per IEC 60947-4-2. The unit carries ATEX and IECEx certification.
Fieldbus and control integration
This soft starter supports PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET with PROFIenergy — pick the protocol your PLC speaks and wire it directly; no gateway needed. The analog output defaults to 4-20 mA (parameterizable to 0-10 V via the High Feature HMI accessory), which lets you feed motor current or power to a DCS or SCADA without a separate transducer. Remote reset is handled by cycling the 24 VDC control supply off and on — useful if the starter trips overnight and you want an automated restart from the PLC sequence. The error logbook is only available with a special accessory (the High Feature HMI), so budget for that if you need fault history.
Mounting is screw-fix only — no DIN-rail clip on this frame size. The unit measures 160 mm wide by 230 mm tall by 282 mm deep, so plan for a backplate that clears the depth plus 100 mm upward and 75 mm downward clearance for ventilation. Side clearance is only 5 mm, so you can pack units tight in a row. Shock resistance is 15 g / 11 ms, with potential contact lifting above 12 g; fine for most industrial floors but not for direct mounting on a vibrating screen deck.
