200 A soft starter for ATEX zones and motor control panels
The Siemens 3RW5076-2AB14 is a SIRIUS hybrid soft starter rated for a minimum operating current of 200 A across a 200-480 V supply range. Trip class, fieldbus, and environmental fit
Trip class is selectable between CLASS 10A, 10E (preset), and 20E per IEC 60947-4-2. Fieldbus options include PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, and EtherNet/IP — the Modbus TCP and EtherNet/IP ports let it talk directly to a PLC without a gateway module, saving a DIN-rail slot and a configuration step. In a Gulf Coast panel that hits 50 °C inside the enclosure during summer, you'll need to account for that derating in the motor full-load current match.
Mounting and approvals for panel integration
Fastening method is screw fixing — not DIN-rail snap-on, so budget for a backplate or mounting bracket. Dimensions are 160 mm wide, 230 mm high, 282 mm deep, which fits a standard 600 mm deep enclosure with room for cabling at the rear. Clearance requirements: 100 mm upward, 10 mm forward, 75 mm downward, 5 mm at the side, 0 mm backward. The zero backward clearance means it can sit flush against the backplane — useful when you're packing multiple starters into a tight MCC section. UL and CSA approvals are both listed, so it's accepted in North American panels without a separate evaluation. CE marking is present for European installations.
