240 A minimum, Trip Class 10A/10E/20E — overload protection profile
The 3RW5077-2AB04: Rated for a minimum operating current of 240 A, with trip classes 10A, 10E (preset), and 20E selectable per IEC 60947-4-2. This matches common global industrial voltages — 208 V, 230 V, 400 V, 480 V — without needing a separate control transformer for the logic.
Fieldbus integration — PROFIBUS, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET
Onboard communication includes PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET with PROFIenergy support. No separate gateway module is required for most PLC ecosystems — the soft starter connects directly to Siemens S7, Rockwell ControlLogix, or third-party controllers over the respective fieldbus. The analog output is configurable as 4-20 mA (default) or 0-10 V, providing motor current or load feedback to a PLC analog input or local HMI. Parameterization of the output type requires the High Feature HMI accessory.
ATEX, IECEx, UL, CSA, CE — compliance for hazardous and global installations
Listed with ATEX and IECEx certification for use in potentially explosive atmospheres (gas and dust). The soft starter can be installed in Zone 2 or Zone 22 areas when properly integrated into the motor circuit — the ATEX mark (Yes) confirms the device meets the essential health and safety requirements of the ATEX directive. CE marking confirms compliance with the Low Voltage Directive and EMC Directive for European markets.
Physical dimensions and mounting — 282 mm depth, screw fixing
Dimensions are 282 mm depth, 160 mm width, 230 mm height. Fastening method is screw fixing (not DIN rail snap-on) — the unit bolts directly to a backplate or mounting panel. Clearance requirements: 100 mm upwards, 10 mm forwards, 0 mm backwards, 75 mm downwards, 5 mm at the sides. Mounting position allows vertical surface with ±90° rotation and ±22.5° tilt forward/backward.
Motor starting profiles — soft torque, voltage ramp, pump ramp down
Supports soft torque (torque-controlled start for gentle acceleration), voltage ramp (adjustable initial voltage and ramp time), and pump ramp down (controlled deceleration to prevent water hammer). These profiles are selected via the onboard HMI or fieldbus parameters. Minimum load is 15 % of the smallest settable Ie — the soft starter can handle lightly loaded motors without dropping out. Remote reset is available by cycling the 24 V control supply. Auto-reset is also supported for unattended restarts after a fault clears.
