Soft Starter for Motor Starting Duty
The Siemens 3RW5115-1XC14-0S is a SIRIUS soft starter designed for three-phase induction motors, with a rated operational voltage of 200 to 480 V AC (50/60 Hz). Its default trip class is CLASS 10A per IEC 60947-4-2, with selectable 10E and 20E classes — meaning it protects the motor during starts against the standard thermal overload curve for that class. The minimum load setting is 15% of the smallest settable Ie, which covers lightly loaded motors. The unit supports PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, and PROFINET standard fieldbuses, plus an analog output configurable as 4-20 mA or 0-10 V (requires High Feature HMI for voltage mode). Starting modes include voltage ramp (adjustable 30-100% starting voltage), soft torque, and soft stop (ramp-down). Inside-delta circuit wiring is supported, which reduces the rated current through the soft starter for larger motors. The unit also features auto-reset, remote reset (by cycling control supply), an error logbook, and firmware update capability.
Fastening is by screw fixing. Dimensions are 321 mm height, 185 mm width, and 203 mm depth. Minimum clearances around the unit: 100 mm upwards, 10 mm forwards, 0 mm backwards, 75 mm downwards, and 5 mm at the sides. The mounting position allows ±10° rotation and can be tilted forward or backward on a vertical surface. Vibration resistance is 15 mm at 6 Hz, 2g to 500 Hz; shock resistance is 15 g / 11 ms (12 g / 11 ms with potential contact lifting).
Control circuit connections use screw-type terminals. The unit is supplied with a standard HMI and supports a High Feature HMI for parameterization of analog output voltage mode and other advanced settings.
