68 A minimum, 200-480 V — motor starting envelope
The 3RW5135-1XC14-0S: This soft starter is rated for a minimum motor FLA of 68 A and a supply range of 200 to 480 V, covering the common low-voltage motor population in European and North American industrial panels. Trip Class 10A (default), 10E, or 20E per IEC 60947-4-2 lets you match the overload protection to the motor thermal time constant — Class 10A for standard starts, 20E for high-inertia loads that need a longer acceleration ramp. Inside-delta circuit wiring is supported, which reduces the current through the starter thyristors to 58% of the motor line current — useful for larger motors where the starter frame size can be downsized.
PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, PROFINET — fieldbus integration
Three fieldbus protocols are built in: PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, and PROFINET, so the starter can be dropped into a Siemens S7 environment or a third-party PLC network without an external gateway. The analog output is configurable as 4-20 mA (default) or 0-10 V via the High Feature HMI, giving the control system a real-time motor current or power signal for monitoring or trending. Firmware updates are field-loadable over the bus, which avoids pulling the unit for a firmware refresh when the plant automation standard changes.
Mounting and thermal derating — panel layout constraints
Dimensions are 203 mm deep, 185 mm wide, and 324 mm high, with screw fixing to the backplate — no DIN-rail clip, so plan for drilled and tapped mounting points. Clearance requirements: 100 mm above, 75 mm below, 10 mm in front, 5 mm at the sides, and 0 mm behind — the tight side clearance means adjacent devices can be butted up, but vertical airflow must be unobstructed.
